Paris, France - LaFarge Aluminates, the world's leading manufacturer of calcium aluminate cements selected a Mitel IP solution provided by the integrator Ipsilan Networks to equip France with 4 sites and an additional 16 sites around the world.
Reviewing existing communication solutions and conducting a study of the market the Information Systems Departments in all sites of Lafarge Aluminates decided to embark on a complete modernization of their communication services and introduce an IP Telephony solution.
The main objective for the IP solution was the unification of telephony services and features in all of Lafarge Aluminates global sites, while still retaining the administration automnomy at each site. Other key areas for Lafarge Aluminates included : reliability and simplicity of use, enhanced productivity applications and security.
Lafarge Aluminates selected Mitel and integrator Ipsilan Networks to deliver and deploy a full IP telephony solution due to an excellent understanding of Lafarge Aluminates needs, the quality of the recommended solution and the outstanding Mitel global customer references which were invaluable assets to win the contract.
The Mitel IP solution consists of : the Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICP) combined with the Mitel 5220 IP phones, Mitel IP DECT and Mitel Your Assistant.
The first deployment was the factory of Dunkirk in Northern France followed by the Mexican subsidiary. The next stage of the implementation will be to roll-out the solution to the sites in France, including the headquarters and the remaining 15 sites around the world by the end of 2008.
