The IT Sector at Kuwait Finance House (KFH) has set up an emergency IT safety system control center that includes an integrated infrastructure system to prepare a backup site to operate vital IT systems in emergency cases for KFH clients and employees. KFH's Chairman and Managing Director Bader Al-Mukhaizeem and AGM for Banking Sector Mohammed Al-Fozan, in addition to several KFH officials had visited the emergency site and the IT safety and control center, where they listened to an explanation from the Infrastructure Services Department Haitham Al-Tarkeet about the role of the site. They toured its different sections and viewed its preparations to meet any emergency conditions.
Meanwhile, AGM of the IT Sector Waleed Al-Hassawi stated in a press release, that the growing number of KFH clients and employees, in addition to the constant expansion in its operations, services, and branches, relies on direct support that is linked to advanced usage of IT and services. He went on to stress that in light of the great reliance on IT, a backup site is recommended to ensure the continuity of work in all KFH sectors professionally under all circumstances. He added that at the time when the backup emergency site works, the IT Sector setup an assisting center to monitor data security, in addition to the emergency site that works around the clock to accomplish several important tasks that include monitoring the performance and continuity of services offered to clients, an alarm system in case the services stop, and preparing statistics that are required to calculate the continuity of the services offered to clients. He went on to say that the tasks include monitoring of the systems and networks security, such as monitoring KFH website, protecting the internal network and systems from viruses, monitoring hacking attempts, and monitoring confidential data bases. Al-Hassawi mentioned that this center can be also used in monitoring the infrastructure and operational environment that includes monitoring the components of the infrastructure, such as equipment and programs, data transfer programs, and supporting programs, not to mention assisting systems that include the air conditioning system, batteries, and the temperature.
