Sharjah, 23 April 2012 - Supported by du Sharjah-based, Kalimat Publishing House, the award-winning publisher of quality Arabic children's books, will be hosting a number of activities including readings, book signings and cooking demonstrations during the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival (SCRF) that will be held at the Expo Centre in Sharjah from 23 April to 2 May.
Kalimat has a number of delights in store for SCRF visitors this year with readings of books such as 'Baba Zayed', a brief biography of Sheikh Zayed by Salha Ghabish. The award winning Lebanese author, Fatima Sharafeddine will also read from a selection of her books for different age groups at the Kalimat stand.
Both children and adults will love the delicious treats that will be prepared during the two cookery demonstrations. The cookery demos will showcase recipes from the book "Lathith Jiddan", the Arabic adaptation of "C'est Trop Bon", a cookbook by Fanny Letournel. The book includes a variety of simple recipes, including breakfast dishes, cold and warm main courses and desserts, that can be easily cooked by children with a little assistance from their parents.

The 4th Sharjah Children's Reading Festival (SCRF) will take place from April 23rd to May 2nd 2012 at Sharjah Expo Centre. More than 200 Arab and foreign publishing houses will take part in the event with over 20,000 printed, audio-visual and electronic titles. SCRF will host 30 guests including authors, intellectuals, artists and researchers in the field of children's literature, who will participate in the seminars, workshops and exhibitions, that will be held as part of the official SCRF program.
