Unique Designer Cocktails

Molecular Mixology Classes at Ginja Cook

Complete with Tapas Dinner and Head/ Shoulder Massage!

Dubai, 6th February 2007: JW Marriott Phuket's Resort & Spa's new young and talented Liquid Chef, Tom Warden is shaking up the cocktail scene at the hip and happening new "Blue Bar" (Out of the Blue, Drink).

With a stunning beachfront location, "Out of the Blue Drink" is a funky, modern bar/nightclub designed by Master Designer Bill Bensley.  It features retro furnishings, incorporating a variety of textures including glass, rope, mosaic tiles, with a striking water feature at the entrance.  With seating both indoor and outdoor, guests have another  fabulous new venue for pre-dinner drinks, nightcaps or an evenings entertainment.

With a string of successful projects throughout Asia behind him, including the Bed Supper Club in Bangkok, Tom - the Liquid Chef - now brings his unique skills to JW Marriott Phuket with his designer cocktails and molecular mixology.

Tom is a delight to watch as he creates an unforgettable range of culinary beverage explosions, with  exquisite combinations of alcohol, food items and other ingredients including Cuban cigars, frangipane scented sea salt and saffron infused tapioca pearls to name just a few - as well as unique flavor filled molecules suspended in the beverage that  contain unique flavors that burst in the mouth for an added sensational taste.

For those wanting to learn this unique culinary artform, classes are available at the resort's new Cooking School - Ginja Cook - where of course tasting the exotic creations you make is all part of the process!  Some of the fascinating concoctions taught in the classes include:

  • White Chocolate and Horseradish Crme Gin Martini
  • Manhattan with Jelly of Macerated Cherry and Marashino Liquer
  • Vice Martini - Cigar-infused Havana Club 7anos, with Illy Coffee infused 42Below Vodka and Vanilla Syrup
  • Herradura infused with Betelnut Margarita with frangipane scented sea salt
  • Kaffir Lime infused Gin and 42BELOW Vodka Martini with jasmine and marian plum sacs that burst to release a plum puree

Courses are available at Ginja Cook from Monday - Saturdays inclusive and are held from 3.00pm - 8.00pm.  On completion, guests are served a delicious Tapas dinner to complement their liquid creations - complete with a private Butler, and receive and a 20 minute head and shoulders massage (to relive the muscles from all that shaking) from the Mandara Spa therapists. Total bliss.

Classes cost US$195 per person, plus additional government taxes and service charge.
