As part of their cultural activities, Junaid for Perfumes recently participated in a 'Koh-do' demonstration that was conducted by the Japanese Embassy and the Bahrain-Japan Friendship Society under the patronage of HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa at the Isa Cultural Center.
'Koh-do'- the ancient art of appreciating incense burning, is one of the three popular classical Japanese art forms after the renowned tea serving ceremony and flower arrangements.
The Koh-do demonstration was conducted by Mr. Sohitsu Hachiya, a 21st generation designate of the grand master of Shino School of Koh-do who discussed the 300- year old history of Japanese incense and how it has evolved over the years.
Representing Junaid for Perfumes at the event was Sales & Marketing Director Mr. Hamad Fuad who demonstrated the history, tradition and creation of Bahraini Oudh.
"Oudh has a very long history of use as an incense and an aromatic oil.
In Bahrain, Oudh is burned as a mark of respect and hospitality and is a traditional gesture of welcoming and honouring guests," said Mr. Hamad at the event.
"The tradition of burning Oudh has not waned even among young Bahrainis who understand and appreciate the cultural significance of this age-old custom," he continued.
Junaid for Perfumes participation at the event played a substantial role in strengthening friendly relations and encouraging cooperation in social and cultural fields between the two countries.
Established in 1910, Junaid for Perfumes have remained pioneers in the perfume industry who carry along with them a family legacy of perfection.
