Dubai/Zurich: – Julius Baer, the leading Swiss wealth management group, has entered a new chapter in the UAE with the move to ICD Brookfield Place, an iconic development located in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Designed in line with the Bank’s global architecture concept, the new office is spread across 28,000 sq ft, occupying levels 14 and 15 of the building and offering unrivalled views of the DIFC and Downtown Dubai.

Commenting on the office move, Régis Burger, Head Middle East & Africa and Chairman, Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd., said: “It was a pioneering move by the bank to establish a presence in Dubai over 15 years ago which has allowed us to be closer to our clients and show our long-term commitment to the region. Although we are attached to our Swiss roots that has a 130-year history, we also believe in being active in our international core markets for the long term. We are very excited to embark on this new phase of our growth and expansion by cementing our regional headquarters out of this premier development known for its environmental conscious policies”.

The contemporary corporate workspace designed with sustainability in mind has an expansive client reception area with seven meeting rooms and three boardrooms with state-of-the-art facilities and excellent infrastructure. In addition to facilitating client meetings, the modular boardrooms with their fantastic views of the DIFC and surrounding areas will be also used for smaller client events, classroom trainings and/or for large town halls.

“As Dubai is located half-way between two important hubs, Switzerland and Singapore, it has allowed us to enhance our global coverage and best serve our clients across the Middle East, Africa, the Indian sub-continent and Eastern Europe”, said Alireza Valizadeh, CEO , Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd. He continued, “It has been wonderful to witness the journey of the Dubai platform which has grown from 8 employees to over 160 spanning over 28 nationalities. I am confident that the move will support all of us in working towards enhancing the experience of our clients”.

Sheryl Cherian, COO, Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd, emphasised that: “When the decision was made to look for a bigger office space way back in 2017, we knew we wanted to be in a modern Grade-A workspace that could accommodate our future growth ambitions and at the same time continue to be at the heart of the DIFC. ICD Brookfield Place turned out to be the only choice to meet those dynamics. In addition, as we bolster our efforts towards sustainability and responsible investing, we are very proud to be associated with a development that matches our very own resolve towards being environmentally conscious with its green building rating which is one of a kind in the region”.
