Amman, November 1st, 2011 - Under the Patronage of His Excellency Mr. Sami Gammoh, Minister of Industry & Trade, Japan Tobacco International (JTI) Jordan, a leading cigarette manufacturing and distribution company in the Kingdom, has inaugurated a new factory in Al Qastal in the Al Jizah District. The new factory will be able to produce an annual total capacity of 5 billion cigarettes, and will additionally increase JTI Jordan's combined workforce to 175 employees.

Thomas McCoy, JTI Chief Operating Officer, stated, "The expansion of our manufacturing capacity represents a significant milestone for JTI's operations in the Kingdom. This new state-of-the-art factory demonstrates our belief and confidence in the recently adopted investment laws in Jordan and is a testament to our ongoing commitment to support and contribute to the local economy."

JTI Jordan manufactures and markets a variety of brands in the Kingdom. It has created over the years new job opportunities and is an important contributor to state tax revenues.
