Jordan Customs Department announced that it has executed the first Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) project in the Kingdom in partnership with STS, the leading company in providing complete all-round Information Technology (IT) solutions in Jordan and the region, and a Cisco Gold Certified partner. This project, seen as a leading project due to being the first of its kind in Jordan, makes use of a set of latest and innovative solutions by Cisco.

Cisco ACI is a comprehensive Software Defined Networking (SDN). It enables organizations to accelerate application deployment and delivery, dramatically reducing IT costs through policy-enabled workflow automation. Cisco ACI integrates physical and virtual environments under one policy model for network, storage, servers, services and security. Cisco ACI is built on various Cisco products and technologies.

Through Cisco ACI, organizations are reducing application deployment times from weeks to minutes. It also dramatically improves IT alignment with business and services objectives and policy requirements. Cisco ACI makes troubleshooting faster through increased visibility of the entire infrastructure, regardless if it was a physical server or a hyper-visor. Through Cisco ACI, all security device provisioning and configuration can be automated according to the centrally managed application policies and requirements.

And from his side, Jordan Customs Director General Dr. Waddah Al-Hmooud said that as part of Jordan Customs' strategy for the years 2016-2018, it endeavors to make use of a solution that would help reduce efforts and costs of managing Jordan Customs' IT, while making the network more agile at its Headquarters and its centers which are distributed across the Kingdom. He also referred to his gratitude towards the IT team at the Jordan Customs that shows competency and high technical ability.

He also praised STS saying the having a local company providing services in IT of the highest caliber enabled us to be part of this one-of-a kind and first project in Jordan and the region.
