Persisting in the efforts to develop the Jordanian pharmaceutical industry, the Jordanian Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (JAPM) with the support of USAID Jordan Economic Development Program (SABEQ) conducted a workshop entitled "Good documentation Practices and Batch Record Review" to Jordanian pharmaceutical companies at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Amman.
To enhance available expansion opportunities for Jordanians manufactures to meet regional and international marketing demands, Jordanian pharmaceutical companies need to be internationally recognized and accredited. It is to this end that JAPM supported by SABEQ Program organized the Good Documentation Practices and Batch Record Review workshop to the Pharmaceutical Industry.
The workshop serves to inform and directly improve documentation practices and bridge GxP documentation gaps and non-compliances; moreover to assist JAPM members and develop the capacity of personnel to meet the FDA/EU expectations for GMP compliant documentation practices and improve writing and reviewing essential documents, ensure change control, and implement proper review and approval processes of the documents at pharmaceutical companies.
With Dr. Nadia Gazal's extensive background and experience in the Pharmaceutical field, this workshop addressed various topics of importance which covered document formatting and structural guidelines, document validation and storage, in addition to packaging batch components and case studies of common practices in the region.
Trainer and professionals exchanged their experiences with the attending Industry members and JFDA inspectors and Lab analysts in a demonstration of the trend that ensures the Jordanian industry will be greatly advantaged once best practices in documentation are in place, and are used effectively to instigate overall economic growth.
The USAID Jordan Economic Development Program (SABEQ) is a five year broad economic development initiative implemented by Bearing Point, Inc. and a sizeable team of international and Jordanian partner firms. By both supporting improvements in the business environment and providing assistance to expand innovation and productivity in Jordanian businesses, it supports the main objective of building up the private sector as a powerful engine of economic growth.
