With Arrival Of New XJ Long Wheelbase in the UAE

Jaguar, the prestigious automotive brand, has announced the arrival of the new Jaguar XJ Long Wheelbase (L) version to Al Tayer Motors and Jaguar Abu Dhabi.

The new XJ Long Wheelbase is the natural alternative for the Jaguar driver who admires the looks and driver-focused dynamics of the standard wheelbase XJ saloon, but prefers additional rear seat room and, possibly, the versatility of being able to use the back seats as a traveling office or meeting room.

Andy Gawthorpe, Managing Director, Jaguar Middle East & North Africa said: "The Middle Eastern automotive market, and in particular the luxury car segment, is a highly discerning one, introducing a long wheelbase version of our flagship Jaguar XJ is a natural step. We anticipate the Long Wheelbase model to be popular as the current XJ model scores so high on quality, reliability, intelligent use of technology and driving excellence."

Apart from being the longest wheelbase and overall length in class, the XJ Long wheelbase version is also the lightest, with a minimal weight increase of just 24kg. Fully competitive with the class leader for front leg- and rear headroom and comparable with the best-in-class for rear accommodation, with an impressive 999mm (more than 39 inches) of legroom.

"Whether you need to work or relax on the move, the rear seat of the New XJ Long Wheelbase is a great place to be. It is spacious and luxurious, and features a number of multi-media options, LCD screens which can be incorporated into the front-seat headrests and fold-down Business Trays," added Gawthorpe.

Not only is there 12.50cm greater room for rear-seat passengers in the new XJ Long Wheelbase, but it also offers a choice of seat configurations, new trim and specification options, and a comprehensive range of comfort and equipment options. These include folding Business Tray work-tables, voice-activated four-zone climate control with individual rear passenger settings and a multi-media system with iPod, MP3 player and DVD connectivity, plus facility for rear display screens and telephone conference calls.

The distinctive XJ style is uncompromised in the Long Wheelbase version, which also enjoys all the lightweight, high-strength advantages of Jaguar's technically advanced, aluminium bodyshell, a choice of aspirated 3.5 and 4.2 litre and a supercharged 4.2 litre V8 engine all with 6-speed automatic transmission.

"Given the 16 per cent sales growth in the Middle East for Jaguar in the first quarter of this year, the arrival of the new XJ Long Wheelbase in the region looks set to significantly boost our standing in the competitive luxury car segment", added Gawthorpe. "The New XJ Long Wheelbase is a tremendously attractive proposition for buyers seeking a luxurious premium saloon with a real sporting edge."
