Hands-free communication leader selects Modern Markets as its exclusive distributor in Saudi Arabia
Jeddah, KSA August 31, 2004 - JABRA, the world's leading brand of hands-free communication products for the mobile consumer market including industry-leading Bluetooth headsets, today announced its popular mobile communication products will now be available in Saudi Arabia. JABRA has selected Modern Markets (a subsidiary of Ahmed Abdulwahed Trading Co.), as its exclusive distributor for its range of industry-leading products across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The first products to be launched in the Kingdom by JABRA are two of the industry's best selling Bluetooth headsets that work with the latest Bluetooth enabled mobile phones, JABRA BT200 and JABRA BT250. Both headsets feature comfortable behind the ear design and can work up to 10 meters from a mobile phone. JABRA will also launch its upcoming JABRA SP100 portable Bluetooth speakerphone, enabling users to enjoy the many benefits of hands-free and cord-free conversations in the car, the office or the home.
JABRA selected Modern Markets as its exclusive distributor in the Kingdom due to its experience and understanding of the local market, its extensive and strategically placed distribution chain and national network of sub-distributors and resellers including major electronics and computer outlets.
"JABRA products address the needs of mobile consumers looking for the latest mobile technology and offer solutions for those seeking the freedom of hands-free communication," said Vincent Pe?a, country manager, EMEA Key Venture Markets, JABRA. "By partnering with Modern Markets, we can bring JABRA products to the region quickly, and are pleased to be making our products available," said Pena.
Both the JABRA BT200 and BT250 Bluetooth headsets are leading the industry due to the unique and sophisticated design, ultimate comfort and superior performance. Weighing in at less than one ounce, the headsets are made of a soft, sound-absorbing elastomer material that reduces distortions, resulting in crisp sound quality. The earpiece and microphone boom conform behind the ear so each user is guaranteed a comfortable, secure fit. The earpiece also features the JABRA MiniGel, an evolution of the company's patented EarGel. This soft, ergonomic gel tip pivots for use in either ear and channels sound into the ear canal, enhancing reception and clarity.
JABRA will also introduce its new portable Bluetooth wireless speakerphone in Saudi Arabia, the JABRA SP100, offering users superior sound quality with a 96 dB/2 watt speaker, powerful amplifier and pivotal microphone, providing clear, high quality sound. It is supplied with both a visor clip and a suction mount as two convenient car-mounting accessories.
Supplied with rechargeable batteries, JABRA SP100 provides up to 12 hours of talk time and 20 days of standby time. It can also be charged with an AC power adaptor and it operates with standard AA batteries. In addition, JABRA SP100 is equipped with a mute button for telephone conferencing. Its multi-function call button supports voice-activated dialling and answer/end commands.
"We're delighted to sign this agreement with JABRA," confirmed Mathew Oommen, divisional manager, Modern Markets. "Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region is witnessing fast growth in the consumer electronics sector, especially mobile technology, and JABRA's unique products are well positioned to meet the needs of users in the region," he concluded.
