26 September 2008
The UK's only integrated Emergency Response Service Centre (ERSC) has passed an ISO 9001 audit.   The facility, which is run by leading training and consultancy provider, Petrofac Training, is located at Marine House in Aberdeen. It is the only emergency response centre in the UK dedicated to providing a range of customers from within the oil & gas and other high-risk industries with an integrated response capability.

The ISO 9001 standard required auditors to obtain a first-class understanding of the ERSC's quality management systems and the nature of its business, in order to extend the certification, already granted to other Petrofac Training facilities, to the ERSC. The audit demonstrates that the centre has met the ever-growing customer demand for the highest level of excellence. This included the processes for continual improvement and meeting applicable regulatory requirements.  The certification was achieved through Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance.

Mike Comerford, Petrofac Training regional director - Europe, said: "We are delighted to receive this quality and assurance certification which demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement to work within the industry. Having begun operations in 2006 the ERSC currently has 30 assets and the ISO audit is a testimony to the processes and enormous work that has been undertaken by all our staff."
