Featuring a superior blend of on and off-road capability, the new GX460 provides an extensive array of advanced technology ensuring that it delivers exceptional on-road ride comfort and handling as well as true off-road capability.

The New GX460 presents a rugged and powerful form which is artfully woven together through the Lexus design philosophy L-finesse. The exterior radiates solidity and power, exerting its distinct identity by appearing as though sculpted from a single block of metal. The three horizontal bars of the front grille may convey a tough stance, but closer inspection reveals a world of intricate detail and texture - a distinctive signature of Lexus styling.

Its tough premium concept is developed further in the robust full-frame construction. While other premium SUVs continue to adopt monocoque frames, the Lexus designers chose the body-on-frame construction to provide the New GX460 with incredible strength, reliability and off-road capability. Other benefits include class leading quietness and comfort. While the frame's superior rigidity allows the suspension to effectively absorb bumps, creating a smoother ride, it also isolates the cabin from directly receiving road noise, creating an extraordinarily peaceful interior.

The vehicle's exceptional driving performance is supported through a series of advanced technologies underpinned by its powerful V8 engine. The New GX460 powertrain comprises a 4.6 litre V8 engine delivering 292 horsepower coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The addition of cutting edge technological features such as Dual VVT-i , Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and advanced low friction components enable the New GX460 to deliver higher output and torque than similar sized engines, while at the same time achieving high fuel efficiency and low emissions. The 6-speed automatic transmission excels in off-the-line acceleration performance, quiet high speed cruising and excellent power delivery for off-road travel. Integrated control of the engine and transmission delivers a high level of responsiveness and thereby the ultimate thrill of driving both on and off-road.

A key factor in heightened on-road handling is the introduction of the electronically modulated Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) with Active Variable Suspension (AVS) also standard on all models. Reducing body roll and delivering impressive cornering, the system equally delivers excellent wheel articulation for secure traction off-road. Maneuvering is generally made easier through the compact size of the vehicle, which makes the New GX460 stand apart from other 4WD SUVs that are generally larger in size. All these features allow both driver and passengers to enjoy a superior ride comfort in any driving scenario on or off-road.

In order to deliver maximum off-road driving enjoyment, the New GX460 comes equipped with a series of advanced technologies unseen in any other competitor. These supportive off-road features include Crawl Control, a Steering Angle Indicator, the world's most advanced braking and traction system, Multi-terrain Select, and the sophisticated Multi-terrain Monitor.

Crawl Control maintains extremely low speeds by automatically controlling the accelerator and brake, allowing the driver to fully concentrate on steering and proceed confidently through rocky terrain. In off-road situations where hard left and right steering operation is required, the Steering Angle Indicator enables drivers to check the angle and direction of the wheels, allowing the vehicle to be operated calmly and confidently.

The driver can choose from one of the four Multi-terrain Select modes - 'mud and sand', 'loose rock', 'mogul' and 'rock' - to match road conditions, signaling the vehicle to automatically set traction based on moment-by-moment conditions. When the appropriate mode is engaged, the New GX460 is able to continuously deliver optimum traction. The Multi-terrain Monitor can be used when Multi-terrain Select is in operation, allowing drivers to check their surroundings and minimize blind spots. The New GX460 is therefore fully equipped to allow both novice and experienced drivers to enjoy the off-road experience.

The New GX460 includes other driver support features that seem to almost anticipate the driver's needs. These include Adaptive Cruise Control which includes both constant speed control and a vehicle-to-vehicle distance control function; a wide-view front and side monitor system that displays hard to see areas; a back guide monitor system that shows the area behind the vehicle when parking and an eight-sensor clearance sonar system warns the driver of potential obstacles. A conversation mirror allows the driver to safely converse with rear seat passengers while the Active Rear Air Suspension automatically adjusts the ride height when carrying a heavy load for improved ride comfort and stability for everyone.

The New GX460 also features a state-of-the-art navigation system that is operated by touch or using a voice command system. One of the fastest and most user-friendly systems available, this multi-feature system includes a dual-map display; the rear view camera and Lexus Park Assist technology.

Further intelligent features provide small touches of convenience such as the Smart Entry and Start System that allows locking and unlocking the doors and engine start-up without the use of a key; Variable Speed Power Windows that slow down before they reach the full open or closed position for comfort and quietness and a cool box in the front armrest. All these innovative features create a pleasurable driving experience.

The New GX460 is a true luxury vehicle. From the choice of materials to the overall design and passenger comfort, the fit and finish of the New GX460 is simply exquisite. The instrument panel is designed to appear as if formed from a single metal bar and is arranged to place all vital controls within easy reach. Optitron instrument gauges are a traditional and functional Lexus design element. In addition wood trim, instrument panel stitching and soft-touch surfaces enhance the luxury feel. Customers have a choice of three dual combination interior colours.

Every passenger in the New GX460 will notice the superior comfort and security. During the development, particular attention was given to seat functions and the utilization of interior space.

For the second row seats, walk-in and slide functions are adopted along with 40:20:40 split folding seat back. The third row seats feature a power flush with floor function which automatically folds and stows the seats flush with the floor at the touch of a button, providing a diverse range of storage usage scenarios. Small amounts of cargo can be accessed in the luggage compartment by opening the glass hatch separately.

Every seat in the New GX460 has been designed to allow for comfortable, natural seating positions, even during long trips. The front seats are configured to allow easy entry and exit, securely holding occupants and making steering operation easier. The eight way power adjust function, lumbar support, and temperature control function help maintain a correct driving posture with ample support for a more comfortable driving experience. Customers can also opt for the beautifully soft semi-anline leather seats in the top range models.

In addition, the driver, front passenger, and rear passenger seats offer individual air conditioning temperature control settings, ensuring that comfortable temperatures reach every corner of the spacious interior. The New GX460 comes standard with a nine speaker audio system, and a Mark Levinson 17 speaker system is available in the top end models. On both systems, the tweeters, speakers, and woofers are optimally positioned to envelop occupants in powerful sound. Streaming bluetooth audio also allows music to play from an iPod without having to contend with wires or connectors. Furthermore, top end models provide displays mounted in the back of the front headrests as part of the Rear Seat Entertainment system. The New GX460 was designed with a thorough commitment to safety, allowing all occupants to ride with confidence. In terms of preventative safety features, the GX460 offers a Pre-Crash Safety System that warns drivers of potential collisions and minimizes impact should a collision occur. The Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) boosts visibility when cornering. Collision safety features also aim to protect the safety of every occupant. These include Front Active Headrests that reduce the risk of whiplash during a rear collision and an advanced Supplement Restraint System (SRS) including driver and front row passenger knee airbags and roll sensing curtain airbags to protect even those riding in the third-row seats.

The New GX460 is available in three models with a choice of seven exterior colours. Prices start at a highly competitive AED 230,000 for the Premium model; AED 260,000 for the Premium Plus model and AED 275,000 for the top of the range Luxury model.
