One of the key events at IDEX 2005 will be the 'Helicopter Pavilion', supported by the UAE Air Force and Air Defence, Special Operations Group and the Ministry of Interior, this looks all set to be a resounding success and fits perfectly with the exhibition profile. One other feather to our cap for IDEX 2005 is the strong interest that we have received on this occasion from the World of Defence Industry, which further cements the necessity for exhibitors and visitors to be part of IDEX 2005.
Already reaching confirmed bookings of 87% of indoor space to date, IDEX is already looking set to be an event to do business and the outdoor static display area, is nearly fully booked. For our existing and potential exhibitors the 'Exhibitors Manual' will be available both in hard copy and on our dedicated website by the end of August 2004. Various sponsorship packages are also available to those who wish to heighten their companies profile, by advertising their products, services on large wide and high resolution plasma screens. One of our accomplished exhibitors BAE Systems has already confirmed its place as an advertiser at IDEX 2005, in the main live vehicle mobility demonstrations arena on the main obstacle (hill). Continuing with the resources available to our exhibitors, media, visitors, delegations to this event is the 'special entertainment programme'.
The Gulf Defence Conference 2005 jointly organised by GEC and Jane's Information Group, will be held on Saturday 12th February 2005 at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition & Conference Centre, Conference Halls, starting with the Opening Ceremony of the conference at 1030-1045 hrs, followed by the FIRST session of the conference at 1100-1300 hrs, then the Official Patron's Lunch, then the SECOND session of the conference at 1500-1700 hrs, concluding with the Gulf Defence Conference 2005 Patrons Dinner Party, at 2000-2230 hrs.
The IDEX 2005 team has already participated in several events this year - DefExpo, India, AAC4I '04, Singapore and currently exhibiting at DSA '04, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, followed by HeliExpo, Florida, USA, SOFEX '04, Amman, Jordan, ILA '04, Berlin, Germany, Eurosatory, Le Bourget, Paris, France and Farnborough '04, Farnborough, UK.
For the media, IDEX 2005 will be holding a 'pre-show' press conference on Saturday 12th February 2005, at 1100 hrs followed by lunch at the UAE Armed Forces Officers Club.
