Luxury Shopping destination to showcase the rich visual heritage of the Islamic World during Dubai Summer Surprises

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: BurJuman is pleased to announce an exhibition of Islamic Calligraphy by renowned Sudanese calligrapher, Isam Ibrahim Babiker.  The exhibition will feature numerous paintings of the artist and will be open to the public during the Dubai Summer Surprises until July 24 in support of art, heritage and culture.

Babiker's exhibit is an amalgamation of visual expression and creativity, representing unity, beauty and power, characterized by an inimitable sense of quest with an endearing appeal.

"Arabic calligraphy is more than just simple art; it is a divine and moral representation from which calligraphy acquires its magnificent reputation," said Babiker.

The aesthetic principles of Arabic calligraphy are a direct reflection of the cultural values of the Muslim world.  Calligraphy has become the most revered art form in the Islamic world due to the historical legacy of Arabic literary heritage and Islam. The result is an artistic tradition of extraordinary beauty, affluence and power.

Babiker has been an avid calligrapher for over 30 years and has had private exhibitions in Doha, Dubai and Khartoum, and has been known for his eccentric and individual art work.  His calligraphy is done in conjunction with decorative motifs, lovingly embellishing what is most sacred and precious.

"My inherent love of calligraphy is the reason why I continue to display my work and experiment with different styles of calligraphy. BurJuman has been very encouraging with my exhibitions and supports many artists in displaying their art as well," continued Babiker.

Held as part of the Dubai Summer Surprises, art displays by local and international artists have always been positively promoted and are seen as a crucial representation of cultural preservation and heritage.

This exhibition will be held daily from 10am to 10pm until July 24 in BurJuman.
