eSports live at GiTEX 2008 - Global Challenge in Counter-Strike - Cooperation with Dubai World Trade Center - Largest Arabian eSports tournament - 750,000 US Dollars prize money overall
Cologne, August 19th, 2008 - Turtle Entertainment and Intel present the Intel® Extreme Masters III season live at GiTEX 2008. They cooperate with the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) to bring the global league of eSports champions to the Middle East. The Extreme Masters Global Challenge Counter-Strike takes place at the largest Middle Eastern IT Convention in Dubai (UAE) at the Gitex Shopper. A qualifier for local teams takes place on the first days. The Global Challenge with all invited participants kicks off on October 22nd. 50,000 USD prize money are at stake. It is the largest eSports tournament in the Arabian World this year.
The Intel Extreme Masters are the global league of eSports champions. 750,000 USD prize money is at stake in the Intel Extreme Masters season III. A series of nine live tournaments at the worlds most important IT and Gaming conventions are tied together by three continental eSports leagues. The leagues are held in Asia, Europe and America to find the best teams on each continent in World of Warcraft and Counter-Strike. These teams compete at the Continental Finals for their spot at the Intel Extreme Masters Global Finals at CeBIT 2009.
