Beirut: In order to meet its subscribers' needs and to provide them with best services, Alfa, the mobile operator managed by Orascom Telecom since February 2009, announces the implementation of a new frequency plan on its network during the nights of 22nd, 23rd & 24th of January 2010.
The new frequency plan, which will be implemented in collaboration with Ericsson, consists of a re-distribution of all the used frequencies on the network in order to get the utmost efficiency from the allocated spectrum and to improve the network performance.
Implementation will be on all sites covering the below area as per the below schedule:
- Friday 22nd: Zahle, Baalbek, Kesrwan, Jounieh, and part of Meten (El Metn al aala, Bikfaya, Behrsaf, Baabdat, Hemlaya, Chouya, Beit Chabeb, Naas, Qornayel, Tarchich and Baskinta).
- Saturday 23rd: South area and Shouf
- Sunday 24th: Jbeil, Jroud Jbeil, and North area.
It is worth mentioning that during the implementation of the new plan, which will be performed between 11PM & 6AM, some perturbations might occur on specific cells of Alfa's network due to halting & activating of these cells.
Moreover, following the implementation of this new plan and until reaching total frequency synchronization and tuning after the re-distribution process, minor transmission perturbations might be experienced by Alfa's subscribers during a transitory period until end of January.
