4 November 2007 - Middle East: Imation Corp (NYSE: IMN), a worldwide leader in removable data storage media, today announced updates to the Imation Odyssey solution.

Imation-designed Odyssey removable hard disk cartridges are now available in 250GB capacity as well as 40GB, 80GB, 120GB and 160GB.  The cartridges backup like a tape drive and feature the performance advantages of a disk-to-disk system.  The Odyssey storage system is designed to help small and home office users meet the challenges of data protection by providing fast backup, accurate restores and archiving and full disaster recovery. 

An internal USB docking station is also now available as part of the storage system and is designed to be used with next-generation hard disk cartridges.  The docking station fits into a floppy disk bay allowing users to manage both the optical drive and the Odyssey removable storage system from one PC.  The docking station will fit into any 5.25-inch half-height or 3.5-inch full-height and slimline drive bays, creating a solution that enables efficient and low-cost backup.

Now available, Imation's Odyssey internal USB docking solution includes EMC Retrospect® software for backup and recovery.  EMC Retrospect software makes it easy for users to protect their data and includes password protection and 256-bit AES encryption to help prevent unauthorised users from accessing data.
