IKCO is currently focusing on strengthening auto part makers considering research and development, designing and engineering.
In the opening ceremony of polymer gas tanks and sealing tapes production lines, Javad Najmeddin, IKCO CEO said, "Today, IKCO produces 94 percent of its car parts and components domestically."
IKCO has gained the required technical knowledge to design and produce car bodies and heavy dies and has reached self-sufficiency in these sectors. Establishing 12 domestic and international production plants indicates IKCO's high capabilities in car production.
SAPCO, the company that supplies parts and components for IKCO cooperates with 89 French, 69 German, 32 South Korean and 11 Italian companies. In the mean time, Iran's market is going to be saturated soon and export boost will turn in to a must for IKCO to strengthen its presence in global markets.
IKCO CEO finally emphasized outsourcing auto parts was one of the main and most important paths to success, paved by global car makers and said that IKCO should step into the same path.
