Abu Dhabi, UAE 11 March 2013: The Arabian Gulf's young doctors can now study in Abu Dhabi for the sought-after Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP).
MRCP Part 1 and Part 2 will take place from May 9-11 at the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC), the state-of-the art diabetes treatment centre in Abu Dhabi.
Recent MRCP courses held at the UAE capital's ICLDC, in partnership with UK's Hammersmith Medicine, have won positive delegate feedback for high quality content and instruction. ICLDC has a purpose-designed lecture theatre, interaction areas and offers easy access to a number of hotels and airport.
According to the course leader, Imperial College London's Professor Karim Meeran the vigorous programmes provide outstanding preparation and are an ideal stepping stone for the MRCP examination.
"Passing the MRCP is a tough proposition for young doctors yet it's compulsory if they have aspirations to become a specialist. These courses are designed to ease the pressure and ensure candidates have the best possible chance.
"We have considered the sort of questions that will come up and we coach doctors in a way that will make them better prepared to pass with flying colours."
Professor Meeran added that due to the region's growing demand for doctors, it makes sense to hold the courses in the UAE. Recent courses have had an international flavour with participants from Canada and the UK, as well as from the region with the likes of Oman, Qatar and Kuwait represented.
Due to growing demand, the training course has been expanded and is set to be held at ICLDC three times this year.
"Both the MRCP 1 and 2 programme are continuously reviewed by the Health Authority Abu Dhabi and accredited for 21.5 and 22 CME hours respectively," added Professor Meeran.
