FreedomTown, Kuwait - May 1, 2011-- Award-winning Jazeera Airways today announced thatit passed the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), theairline industry's benchmark operational safety audit, placing the airline on par with the best airlines in the world.

IOSA's six-month evaluation of Jazeera Airways operational andcontrol systems showed that the airline conforms and implements theinternational standards set by IOSA operational standards, in all operationssectors including airports, flight deck, cabins, and maintenance andengineering.

Jazeera Airways VP Maintenance and Engineering, Abdullah AlHudaid said: "Jazeera Airways has passed a significant milestone with thisinternationally-recognized accreditation. This is a testament that JazeeraAirways is up there with the best airlines in the world."

Initiatedin 2001, the IOSA audit is an international evaluation system precursor forairlines to become an IATA member. IATA provides an airline a wide-range ofoperational benefits and opportunities, including code sharing with other IATA member airlines, poolingmaintenance and engineering activities, and accessing certain markets limitedto IATA member airlines.

There are currently 357 airlines registered in IOSA alongsideJazeera Airways. 

IOSA's quality audit principles are designed to conduct auditsin a standardized manner and provide airlines with cost-effective benefits andthe implementation of the best operational safety measures and practices.

IOSAcertified Jazeera Airways after it complied and demonstratedfull conformity with the following eight IOSA standards:
