Dubai: HTMi Switzerland Dubai, the training Hub inspiring the best hospitality and tourism ambassadors, today announced the formal agreement with the Hotel and Tourism Management Institute (HTMi) Switzerland to bring the highest quality of Swiss educational programs and experiences to UAE’s hospitality and tourism sector.
Set to open in April 2019, HTMi Switzerland Dubai campus boasts contemporary new facilities and cutting-edge programs for both Emirati and international students. Offering year-long courses with Swiss accreditation as well as a variety of short courses, graduates, industry veterans and those switching careers are invited to apply to HTMi Switzerland Dubai, where training will centre around the UAE’s bid to become the world’s number one tourist destination by 2025.
With a wide range of the HTMi Switzerland Dubai certified courses in the hospitality and tourism sector, multiple opportunities for fresh graduates and skilled individuals to enlist on professional and vocational education programs with practical internships in the UAE are on offer.
Courses begin in April 2019, led by teaching staff with both international and UAE-based experience to empower students with applied, hands-on learning, thus advancing student career opportunities.
Emirati graduate studies commence in April with HTMi’s Diploma course in Hospitality Management, the first ever Swiss-Certified UAE National Diploma. Simultaneously, the first Cabin Crew training program will begin, preparing international students for multiple career options in the aviation and airline industries. Later in the year, HTMi Switzerland Dubai will launch its Diploma in International Hotel and Tourism Management, Higher Diploma in International Culinary Arts and Diploma in Restaurant Management programs, with training commencing in August 2019.
H.E. Ahmad Bin Byat, Managing Partner of HTMi Switzerland Dubai said: “Our training focuses on the future of hospitality in the region, teaching specific guest-experience techniques required for the evolution of the industry. In the last two years, the UAE has witnessed the opening of numerous theme parks and tourist attractions, along with continuing building projects to deliver an additional 40,000 hotel rooms in anticipation of Expo 2020. This rapid development requires numerous new roles to be created to ensure those projects succeed, highlighting the need for a highly-trained hospitality workforce.”
In order to fulfill the UAE’s vision of Emiratization in the region, these roles need to be filled by Emiratis to support Governmental plans for the future of the UAE. The arrival of HTMi Switzerland Dubai facilitates the delivery of that vision, offering Swiss-Certified training programs that allow Emiratis to access to world-class hospitality courses previously unavailable in their home country.
Managing Director of HTMi International Development Group Ian Larmour commented: “Dubai already has a reputation and focus for great customer service. With increasingly more hotels opening for Expo 2020 and tourist attractions too, it is the prime city to bring our established expertise in the hospitality and tourism industry to help train Emiratis and international students fulfil their own and the nation’s dreams.”
With a developed understanding of the need to give students real-life training in their chosen industry during their studies, internships are at the very core of HTMi teaching methods. “HTMI’s solid industry partnerships across major international hotel groups and airlines allow students the chance to experience practical work placements in a variety of sectors according to their program focus’, explains H.E. Ahmad Bin Byat, Managing Partner of HTMi Switzerland Dubai. “We know that practical skills combined with positive attitude are highly-valued by HR recruiters, therefore HTMi Switzerland Dubai have designed their courses to coach a student’s mindset and approach, as well as teaching key skills, thus enhancing their career prospects immeasurably.”
