HSBC recently hosted a Wealth Management Seminar under the theme "Portfolio Diversification Simplified - The best way to manage and grow your Wealth", which was held specially for HSBC Premier customers, to provide awareness and education on Wealth Management and give customers different options on how to better manage their funds.
The seminar was held at The Shangri-la Hotel in Dubai and had two speakers - James Hughes, Head of the Multimanager team in HSBC UK, and Paul Hancock Regional Head of Pensions, Prudential Corporation Asia. Both speakers brought to light the importance of having a diversified and well balanced portfolio.
James Hughes emphasized how diversified and un-correlated assets can minimize risk in a portfolio and how these can generate handsome returns over a medium to long term period. Paul Hancock, on the other hand, shared his expertise on long term investing and stressed on the importance of saving at an early age and the impact of delaying plans on building a retirement nest egg.
Ishrat M. Kiyani, Regional Head of Wealth Management, HSBC Bank Middle East Ltd., while addressing the audience at the opening of the seminar commented: "We take pride in being a forerunner in the Investment industry, with our distinctive ways of doing business across the region. Our customers come first in everything we do, thus hosting educational seminars for them is one of our key priorities, to help them generate awareness of our Wealth Management proposition. Furthermore, by conducting such interactive seminars and activities, we aim at raising our profile in Wealth Management expertise".
The seminar was well received and saw the attendance and interest of a mixture of Arabs and Asians, high net worth individuals, as well as a number of CEOs, CFOs, and business owners, which created a good opportunity and a suitable platform to network with like-minded counterparts.
