Doha - Following on from two successful conferences in the past two years, the third Qatar Internal Medicine Conference 2016, organized by General Internal Medicine at Hamad General Hospital, part of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), was recently held at The Sheraton in Doha.
The conference, which provided a platform for clinicians, academicians and researchers from Qatar, Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) countries and the rest of the world to present their clinical contributions and research results in Internal Medicine and its subspecialties, was held over three days from 6 to 8 October and was accredited for up to 21 CPD hours by the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners and also endorsed by the American College of Physicians (ACP), Society of Hospital Medicine of USA, MTCC and Mediterranean Association for Study of Liver (MASL). It is also supported by the Royal College of Physicians of UK.
Dr. Abdel-Naser Elzouki, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Chief of General Internal Medicine at HMC, said the conference was a great success and attended by over 1,000 delegates. He commented: “The Third Qatar Internal Medicine Conference provided delegates with an intensive and exciting scientific program packed with the latest knowledge, covering a number of important Internal Medicine topics, featuring many experts and contributors in the different fields of Internal Medicine from across the world. Delegates could meet and exchange knowledge in an event that included plenary lectures, mini-symposia, ‘meet the expert’ sessions, case-based discussions, clinical debates and a number of workshops on different topics of Internal Medicine.”
Delegates were also encouraged to submit abstracts for the conference based on original research or quality improvement projects contributing to the understanding, development or evaluation of internal medicine and its subspecialties.
