Dubai: 29 March, 2010 - His Excellency Dr Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahad, UAE Minister of Environment and Water, today visited the stand of Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (DuBiotech), the major life sciences hub in the Middle East and a member of TECOM Investments, on the opening day of AGRAme 2010.

Dr Marco Baccanti, Executive Director, DuBiotech, welcomed His Excellency Dr Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahad and briefed him on DuBiotech's progress and recent milestones.

Dr Baccanti said: "AGRAme is the Middle East's largest agribusiness event, and our sponsorship and participation of this event is intended to highlight DuBiotech's ability to support this industry and the unique services available at our business park.  The recent completion of our Nucleotide Laboratory Complex offers state-of-the-art facilities and opens a whole new set of opportunities for our business partners to grow their businesses."

AGRAme runs until March 31, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Launched in 2005, the Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park, has a mandate to create the biggest life sciences cluster in the Middle East. DuBiotech's latest milestone includes the completion of the state-of-the-art four-storey Nucleotide Laboratory Complex. Comprising 256,000 sq. ft. of leasable area, the ultra-modern Nucleotide Lab Complex is designed to house biotech, life sciences and pharmaceutical activities ranging from research and development to diagnostic, analytical and equipment training activities.
