Latest Signing Will See First DoubleTree by Hilton Open In Fashionable District of Juffair In Late 2015

Dubai, UAE & McLean, VA - 5 May 2013

Hilton Worldwide is expanding its presence across the Middle East with the addition of Bahrain to its portfolio of operating countries. The announcement comes following the signing of a management agreement with Tashyeed Properties Company to open the new DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Bahrain - Juffair in late 2015.

The new 350-room hotel is a five star property and will be located in  Bahrain's capital Manama in the upscale residential area of Juffair.  Juffair is regarded as one of the most popular and prestigious areas of the city and the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Bahrain - Juffair hotel will be surrounded by stylish cafes, shops and restaurants.

Rudi Jagersbacher, president, Hilton Worldwide, Middle East & Africa said: "I am delighted we will make our Bahrain debut in Manama's desirable district of Juffair.  We have the right partner, the right location and the right property to add value and presence to the Manama landscape and to the character of the city."

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Bahrain - Juffair will form part of an upscale, mixed-use development with offerings ranging from studio apartments to premium three-bedroom accommodations.  The hotel, which is expected to appeal to the long-stay corporate and leisure guest, offers a host of welcoming amenities including three restaurants, of which two will be speciality, a lobby lounge, two meeting rooms, an outdoor pool and 'his and hers' health clubs.

"We are currently enjoying great success in the Middle East with 13 DoubleTree by Hilton hotels due to open in the region within the next three years,"  said John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. "Today's signing is particularly noteworthy as we prepare to enter the exciting new market of Bahrain with a stylish new property reflective of the brand's signature attributes."

Salem Ahmed Al Mannai, Chairman of Mannai Holding and Tashyeed Properties Company said: "The Kingdom of Bahrain has so much to offer the leisure and business guest and I am very pleased the new five star property will bear the name of one of the Middle East's longest-serving and best recognised hotel brand.  Hilton Worldwide has a wealth of hospitality experience and, together, we will create an outstanding property with world-class facilities and service."

Anil Nair, CEO of Mannai Holding and Tashyeed Properties Company added: "Once completed, this striking, iconic hotel will showcase the very best in hospitality and offer a unique proposition for guests and visitors to Bahrain."

The Kingdom of Bahrain is an archipelago of 33 islands in the Arabian Gulf, mid-way between the coasts of Saudi Arabia and Qatar.  The country has outlined significant support investment for tourism with major infrastructure planned including an integrated rapid road transit scheme linking up with neighbours Saudi Arabia and Qatar, where the planned Qatar-Bahrain Causeway is set to become the world's longest marine causeway.  Expansion work is also due to complete on Bahrain's International Airport by 2015.   Adventure travellers will enjoy touring the Kingdom's two UNESCO World Heritage sites as well as exploring the expanse of Bahrain's deserts, including the famous Sakhir Desert which features the well-known and unusual tourist attraction of a 400-year-old tree surviving and growing with no obvious means of water.
