Amman, Jordan - In its effort to proactively contribute to youth development, Hikma Pharmaceuticals, the fast growing pharmaceutical group, announced that it has enhanced its national and international internship program for university graduates.
Hikma´s internship program is a manifestation of its Corporate Responsibility plan; it has provided 80 training opportunities for university graduates from all over the world in 2011 as well as significantly supporting the professional development of local talents.
The interns come from various Jordanian and international universities such as Jordan University, Mutah University, Tafila Technical University, Al-Balqa Applied University, Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, Jordan University of Science and Technology, Hashimia University, German Jordanian University (interns also sent to Hikma facilities in Germany), Harvard University, Queens University and University of Manchester. Moreover, Hikma cooperates with LoYAC Program (Lothan Youth Achievement Center), which is a non-profit organization focused on providing development to young people, in its commitment to encourage them to develop the desired qualities of future leaders.
The internship program is designed to boost the leadership capabilities of university graduates, gain practical knowledge in a high quality learning environment and provide them with new viewpoints to stimulate creative problem-solving skills. Additionally, the university graduates gain valuable first-hand work experience necessary for their personal and professional development.
Hikma launched this internship platform for local and international interns to discover and develop their potential as a means for opening the doors for future employment, gain a fresh and new perspective into operations, experiment in special projects. "We are offering an innovative approach to empower local and regional youth with a positive impact, as we tap into a local and international pool of talent and prepare the future workforce," added Ms. Majda Labadi, Corporate Vice President of Human Resources at Hikma.
