Cairo – Cairo WoodShow, North Africa's leading platform for wood and woodworking machinery, will showcase more than 90 exhibitors from 38 countries and 8,000+ specialized visitors, and will be held at the Cairo International Exhibition and Convention Centre from 9th to 12th December 2021, bringing together wood and working experts, both regionally and internationally.
Cairo WoodShow is of greater significance, especially in light of the qualitative shift made by Egypt's political leadership to target foreign investments from around the world in various industrial sectors, especially wood manufacturing, which will in return increase Egyptian exports to boost the economy.
In contrast to its previous editions, the Cairo WoodShow's next edition will showcase a host of events and will not only highlight a world-class Exhibition, but will also include conferences, B2B meetings, seminars, and networking events.
As of now, the global wood machinery market is expected to reach $4.7 billion by 2026 – a new market study released by Global Industry Analysts predicts significant growth in several wood industry segments worldwide, particularly in woodworking machinery and furniture. Noting how the demand for wood products has risen during the COVID-19 crisis, the report projects the global market for woodworking machinery, which was estimated at $4.2 billion in 2020, will reach a revised size of $4.7 billion by 2026, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 1.7 percent. Furniture, another segment analysed in the report, is projected to record a 2% growth rate and may reach $2.7 billion by the end of the analysis period.
Mr. Dawood Al Shezawi, President of the Organizing Committee of Cairo WoodShow stated: "The sixth edition of Cairo WoodShow aims to achieve the maximum possible benefit and support the Egyptian wood and woodworking industry. He added that the total exports of furniture sector in Egypt is estimated at Egyptian pounds 30 billion, and accommodates 400,000 workers directly and nearly 600,000 indirectly, adding that the number of establishments working in the sector is close to 120,000, of them 95 % are medium and small enterprises"
Al Shezawi added: "According to the World Bank Gulf Economic Update, following a year of economic distress, the GCC economies are expected to return to an aggregate growth of 2.2 percent in 2021, with the construction sector a key indicator of economic development. Egyptian furniture and wood products are exported to a large number of Gulf countries, as well as Europe and the United States. Therefore, the expansion of construction projects in the Middle East will create a large demand for Egyptian wood and furniture products, which will in return generate revenue for the industrial sector."
The sixth edition of Cairo WoodShow is expected to attract more than 8,000 specialized visitors, allowing participants to interact with experts, suppliers, producers and producers in the wood and machinery industries, as well as a number of government agencies interested in the sector.
The exhibitions at Cairo WoodShow will feature world-class products, services and technologies from leading companies in the industry, giving exhibitors global exposure as well as the chance to close deals with serious buyers. Visitors can also access the newest trends in the industry and network with other key players.
