Panasonic launches wide-screen LCD TV with superior brightness, contrast and enhanced moving picture quality

Due to the rapidly increasing demand for high quality picture display, Panasonic, the worlds leading TV manufacturer, has recently announced the launch of the innovative wide-screen LCD TV in the Middle East. With its cutting-edge technology as well as its ultra-thin and lightweight design structure, the LCD TV provides viewers with the opportunity to experience a higher dimension in television viewing.
The global LCD TV market is witnessing a surge of growth in demand. Current market trend indicates that in 2003, the projected global demand is estimated to reach 1.5 million units, and is further expected to grow to a staggering 3.5 million units in 2005, said Yasuyuki Shimizu, Manager, Consumer Electronics, Panasonic Marketing Middle East FZE. In view of this positive forecast, Panasonic believed that it was indeed opportune to introduce the technologically advanced LCD TV to the Middle East market. The recently launched models TX-22LT2F and the TX-15LT2F, embody the latest and most innovative features that include active light control, which ensures that the circuitry automatically detects the brightness levels of the input signal and adjusts the backlight accordingly in real-time. This represents a dramatic improvement over conventional LCD TVs, which commonly suffer from insufficient maximum brightness and a lack of depth due to weak black reproduction. The result is a greatly expanded range from black to white peak, with crisp, natural pictures that assure dynamic viewing.
The latest active system control technology adjusts the video signal according to the image contrast. Working in tandem with the active light control, it adds greater brightness to bright scenes and brings more depth to dark scenes, for vivid images and a more powerful viewing experience. Panasonics capacity-coupled drive system and high speed LCD give the LCD panel an extremely fast response. With a refresh time of approximately 16 msec, it eliminates the unnatural-looking moving pictures common to many LCD systems. Use of the color filter and optical simulation greatly expands the color reproduction, thus providing vivid reds that actually surpass those of CRTs.
Stereo speakers in completely enclosed speaker boxes on the right and left provide superior reproduction of mid-to-high range sounds. The bass reflex woofer at the lower center then complements them by reflecting the bass sound of the table, making full use of the tables baffle effect to achieve an exceptionally deep bass. The TX-22LT2F features two bass-reflex woofers for even greater depth and power.
The new 22 inch and 15.2 inch models break new ground in styling. Designed for todays decors with added emphasis on the future, the edges of the front panel are formed from a resin material that cleverly transitions from translucent to totally transparent. The above models are available with Panasonics sole distributor in the UAE, Oman National Electronics, which is part of the Al-Futtaim Group.
