Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices is entering a new era with its two new cordless phones - the Gigaset SL370 and the Gigaset SL375 (with integrated answering machine). The compact exterior, which is finished in black and chrome, meets the highest design and ergonomics standards while also integrating outstanding functionality and technology. Bluetooth support enables users to connect the phone to a headset or exchange address data with a mobile phone or PC.
At 114 mm long, 46.5 mm wide and 22.6 mm "thin", the Gigaset SL370 is the smallest cordless phone in the Gigaset portfolio. It is no larger than a modern mobile phone and therefore makes the ideal constant companion within the home.
Inside the attractively designed phone is a raft of top-class technology. No longer is Bluetooth the exclusive preserve of mobile phone users: the Gigaset SL370 delivers hands-free, cordless telephony using a Bluetooth headset. Address data can be transferred as vCards from a mobile to the cordless phone quickly and easily via a wireless connection. There is room for 250 complete addresses, including three telephone numbers, an e-mail address and a birthday per entry. They can also be entered via a PC in Outlook format. "Picture CLIP" enables pictures to be assigned to contacts so that photos of known callers are displayed on the large, high-resolution color display. The combined icon/text menu is simple to use thanks to the convenient 5-way navigation control. The phone's extensive features also include convenient hands-free operation, a vibration alarm, SMS functionality, baby alarm, polyphonic ringtones and organizer functions, including a calendar. Users that want to have several phones in the home can register up to six handsets with the base station.
The Gigaset SL375 also includes a high-performance answering machine that records up to 35 minutes of messages.
The handset's metallic chrome and black matt finish gives the phone an especially elegant and luxurious appearance. This is underscored by the separate chrome charger cradle, which enables the Gigaset SL370/375 to be placed anywhere in the home. The outstanding design of these two phones has already been recognized: they have been awarded the if Design Prize - even before the official launch.
