General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners' Affairs in cooperation with Dubai Municipality has recently organized an awareness workshop to combat rodents.
The workshop was aimed at educating the employees and their families about the health risks caused by the scourge of rodents. The initiative for spreading the culture of public health was organized in collaboration with the Pest Control Section of Public Health and Services Department of Dubai Municipality.
The workshop has shed light on the ways to combat the scourge of rodents, and prevention methods to get rid of this scourge. The lecture presented by Egn. Ruba Ziad Taha, Public Health Research Officer, highlighted some of the incidents, its reasons, prevention methods, and role of individuals in reducing the number of wrong practices that lead to the spread of rodents.
Samples of rodents were exhibited and booklets on most effective pest control methods were distributed during the educational exhibition to spread the message "Prevention is better than cure" to all attendees.
Mr. Hisham Abdullah, Head of Pest Control Section, praised the significant role that GDRFA took in educating its employees serving the public interest. He also urged to establish a culture of health care and its dissemination among all segments of society.
