Dubai, March 1st 2009 - Discover the world of GapKids and babyGap with the opening of its second store in Dubai's Arabian Center, solely dedicated to children's fashion and accessories.

Gap has become a cultural icon around the world since opening in 1969 and GapKids has been renowned as the best destination for cool, confident and casual clothing and accessories for children. The range includes hoodies, t-shirts, shorts, skirts and denim; newborns, infants and toddlers can freely enjoy their childhood years while expressing their own personal sense of style and individuality.

The new store in Arabian Center, Mirdiff offers all wardrobe essentials for children with trendy and stylish designs. This shopping haven for children spans over 3,246 Sq.ft. and with its wide range of looks for the new Spring season the options are limitless.

Late 1960's Palm Beach, Florida sets the mood for the Gap girl this Spring. Bright prints in plaids, viney florals and patchwork combined with great silhouettes gives this collection a modern, optimistic and fun twist.  Shift Dresses are also a must have in florals and solids with a jeweled neckline. Fun graphic tees with patterned woven skirts, feminine tops paired with cotton layering sweaters and capris.  Elevated knit tops with fashion Bermudas are all found in optimistic shades of pink, blue, green, yellow and orange all grounded with brown, white and denim

This Spring collection is inspired by preppy beachfront apparel in true spring colors and seasonally appropriate fabrics for the Gap boys.  Casual woven tops with sleeves rolled up paired back to fashion shorts or layered over pique polos are the key looks. Colors become much brighter; turquoise replaces the French blue and green from last season, and gold and pink are added into the palette.

Today there are more than 1,600 Gap stores around the world including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Ireland and Japan.  In addition, Gap Inc. has signed franchise agreements to extend the Gap and Banana Republic brands to nine countries throughout Asia and the Middle East.

The new GapKids store in Dubai is the 14th of 29 Gap stores scheduled to open across the Middle East, following a franchise agreement between Al Tayer Group, a leading diversified business entity in the Middle East, and Gap Inc., USA.
