- New cutting edge technologies promise to boost productivity and enhance performance in the ME.

- Provides for faster decision making at corporate offices and enhances consumer competitiveness.

Dubai - First Video Communications (FVC), the region's leading provider of web-conferencing and video-conferencing solutions, has teamed up with Microsoft and Polycom, the world's leading provider of unified collaborative communications solutions to raise consumer awareness of the emergence of new video communications technologies by organising two seminars, one each in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on November 20th and 21st respectively.

The events will introduce participants to the Microsoft Live Communications Server Integration with Polycom MCU, which will allow Microsoft Live Communicator users greater conference control.  This integration combines Microsoft's instant messaging and web conferencing capabilities with Polycom's conferencing solutions.

While businesses in the Middle East face the challenges of boosting productivity and performance in an increasingly competitive market place, FVC reveals plans  to tap the huge potential in the region for real time rich media collaboration technologies, through a unique offering that would enable faster decision-making at corporate offices, and provide a competitive advantage for customers

"FVC is happy to organise these seminars to promote the latest initiative of Microsoft and Polycom, which will provide rich collaboration solutions for customers to connect and share information in real time", said Mr. K. S. Parag, Regional Director of  FVC.

FVC is the regional partner of Polycom in Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA), which has its headquarters in USA.

"With the UAE emerging as a world-class international centre for business and finance, and companies across the region looking for ways to emulate successful global business practices and adopt state-of-the-art information and communications systems, we foresee major growth in the rich media collaboration technologies sector  in the Middle East", he added.

The implementation of this technology will also enable companies to invite attendees through Microsoft Outlook on any device to participate in a rich media conference, enable multiple instant message participation on the fly with a high quality multipoint video conference, and interactively initiate and control conference functions like mute and disconnect with a few clicks of the familiar mouse.

Organisations using this latest cost-effective technology stand to benefit immensely, as it will pave the way for quicker decision-making, enhance productivity, promote better relationships with customers and overall, contribute towards business  excellence.

Khaled Hazim, Enterprise Partner Manager of  Microsoft Gulf said: "Microsoft is pleased to support this forum hosted by FVC, as part of a joint marketing and development effort with Polycom to create more awareness of this rich media communications solution in the UAE and the Middle East. As a result of this integration, which combines Microsoft's instant messaging and web conferencing capabilities with Polycom's conferencing solutions, users can immediately launch high-quality voice, video  and web-conferencing calls".

During the seminars, Microsoft, Polycom and FVC experts will provide participants a first-hand insight into this technology through live demonstrations, and also offer advice on how they can be integrated with their business operations.

The two seminars will be held on November 20th at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Abu Dhabi, and on November 21st at the Microsoft Building at DIC.
