Doha- Qatar - FOTON International and Khalid Bin Nasser for Trucks and Buses have marked the GCC launch of the FOTON AUMAN GTL Tractor Head in Doha, Qatar, at a ceremony at the Ritz Carlton Doha.
It is the first FOTON AUMAN GTL to be unveiled in GCC region. The occasion also further cemented the ties between the FOTON Group, the manufacturer of the truck, and KBN, a Qatar distributor of FOTON Trucks.
The event was attended by Sheikh Khalid Bin Nassar Al Thani, Chairman of KBN; Mr. Lu Zhenghua, the Vice President of FOTON International; His Excellency Mr. Li Chen, the Chinese ambassador to Qatar; and Mr. Cui Bin, the Chinese commercial consul; as well as other FOTON officials and dealers from the UAE, Lebanon and other countries in the region. The event was well attended by representatives of local construction companies, car rental companies and logistic companies.
Sheikh Khalid Bin Nasser kicked off the proceedings by highlighting that Qatar represented a vibrant economic center in the GCC with infrastructure projects and initiatives in preparation for the FIFA World Cup in 2022 and the long-term development plans undertaken as part of the country's Vision 2030.
He added: "The region is currently facing macro-economic challenges due to lower oil and gas prices, and this is expected to sustain for the next several years. While development plans will be executed in Qatar, this will occur perhaps at lower than planned volume and value. This means that many here in the audience today will need to revise how you plan, secure and execute construction and/or other projects. You will need to adjust your margins and cash flows to a new reality. FOTON provides excellent performance for value. Our products are up to 50 % - 60% cheaper than high-end brands in the market."
Sheikh Khalid emphasized that FOTON represented a high quality and low cost value proposition highlighted by the fact that the new FOTON AUMAN GTL included the Cummins engine. Further, KBN was also investing in its delivery capability with a stand-alone showroom located on Salwa Road and a dedicated service center in the Industrial area.
Mr. Lu Zhenghua singled out KBN as one of the most important partners of the FOTON Motor Group in the GCC region. He reiterated that FOTON Motor Group would bring outstanding automotive products to Qatar and provide a broad range of support to KBN, to ensure that the after-sales service and spare parts delivery capability of its partners, and ultimately, that for its end users, was of the highest quality.
