On the sidelines of the Bahraini-Qatari Businessmen Forum, the Qatari Trade delegation visited Durrat Al Bahrain project to get acquainted with the latest developments of this major venture.

Mr. Jassim Ahmed Al Jowder, Chief Executive Officer, Durrat Al Bahrain, welcomed the Qatari delegation wishing them all the best in their visit and praised the relationship between the two brotherly countries and the development and progress achieved in all aspects through their fruitful co-operation.

The visit itinerary included an electronic presentation of all the Project's phases and its final design. Then, the delegation toured the islands of Durrat Al Bahrain during which Mr. Al Jowder explained in detail the Project's infrastructure, the residential villas locations, bridges connecting the islands and tourist resorts. In addition, they toured the beaches of some islands and visited some residential villas built on Fairooz Islands. They were also introduced to Al Hilal Island which represents the Trade hub of Durrat Al Bahrain development.

The Qatari trade delegation was highly impressed by the Project which represents a qualitative initiative of the tourist and construction projects in Bahrain. In addition, they were satisfied and happy with the development of the Trade and infrastructure projects carried out by the private sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the open-door policy led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Durrat Al Bahrain Project successfully completed its first and basic phases of the project as it completed the Islands' infrastructure and commenced to construct the residential villas on the first phase's islands which are expected to be handed-over to their owners in the latter part of 2007.

About Durrat Al Bahrain Development
Durrat Khaleej Al Bahrain Company, which is equally owned by the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Kuwait Finance House - Bahrain, develops the Durrat Al Bahrain Project. The Project is developed on 20 square kilometers and includes beaches and seafronts.  Upon completion, the Project will be equivalent to the area of Manama, capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The main developers and architects of the Project are: Messrs. W. S. Atkins, a leading engineering consultations and designers, K. M. Bovis, a joint venture of Al Mudir Company Kuwait and Bovis Land Lease, are responsible for the development and management of the Project.
