Fluid Catalytic Cracking - FCC are helping refineries improve product yield.

Al Dahra Agriculture has entered into an agreement with W. R. Grace & Co. (GRA), a US based company to build a Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) facility in Middle East. The facility to be built in Abu Dhabi's Kizad Industrial Zone will attract an investment of US$ over 200 million and will meet the needs of not only UAE but also the rest of Middle East. Companies are modifying their operations to integrate FCC in their refineries to ensure improved product yield and operational flexibility. Companies have to be on constant lookout to stay updated with the current methodologies and technologies. 3rd Annual Global Refining technology Forum to be held in Doha, Qatar from 16-18 September will gather refining professionals from in and around the region to discuss latest developments in FCC along with other topics. The forum will be held at Renaissance Doha City Centre Hotel which is located in the city center of Doha.

Hassan B.Fallatah, HOFCC Section - Deputy Head from PetroRabigh will be presenting at the forum on the latest developments in FCC. He will focus on evaluating potential FCC modifications to increase capacity and improve product yield and identifying equipment technology for FCC process performance and operational flexibility. With an extensive experience in process control, process unit troubleshooting, advance control and DMX and commissioning Fallatah is currently handling the world's largest high olefin FCC process unit as deputy head in one of the world's largest refining and petrochemicals complex (PetroRabigh JV).

The three day forum will feature case studies and presentations on topics like design for reliability processes for major capital projects, refinery and petrochemical integration, evolving gas-to-liquid technology, third generation bio fuels technology pathways and hydrogen management technology. Speakers presenting at the forum will be representing organizations like PetroRabigh, Qatar Shell GTL Limited, King Fahd University for Petroleum & Minerals - KFUPM, Chevron, Saudi Aramco, Kuwait Oil Company and Petrobras. The final day of the forum will hold two workshops on comprehensive sulphur management for tomorrow's environment and industrial water treatment. With relatively fewer new refineries built refiners continue to face many challenges, the forum will seek to address these critical issues and devise solutions to make refineries more profitable.
