01 February 2007
On 1st February 2007, the lowering of welded pipeline joints has started into the trench where it will be buried upon completion of construction work.

Automatic welding of the pipeline is now progressing between Balhaf and the Upstream facilities in Block 18 in Marib (i.e. source of gas) with a progress rate of almost 700m per day.

It's noteworthy that the Yemen LNG Project will construct and operate a pipeline to connect two gas processing centres, a spurline to the city of Ma'bar to supply domestic consumption, and a 320-kilometer, 38-inch pipeline from the processing centres at Al-Kamil Processing Unit (KPU) to the liquefaction plant at Balhaf on the Gulf of Aden.
