FedEx Increases capacity to Europe and the United States and connects the Middle East to more of India

Dubai, UAE  - FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world's largest express transportation company, today announced the arrival of two large MD-11 aircraft at Dubai International Airport.  The new aircraft will increase FedEx's capacity from Dubai to Europe and the United States and will facilitate new direct flights operating five times a week from Dubai to northern India.,

The first of these flights will travel eastbound and directly connect Dubai to more of India, linking the Middle East to the two largest economic and industrial cities in the country: New Delhi and Mumbai. The second flight will travel westbound increasing the FedEx cargo capacity to Europe and the United States, providing heavy weight shippers greater access to its global network.

"Dubai is the distribution hub for the Middle East, and with an annual growth rate in excess of 13 per cent a year, is becoming an increasingly big player on the world stage", says Hamdi Osman, Vice President - Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, & Africa, FedEx Express.

"These new flights will connect our customers in the Middle East to India, one of the fastest growing economies in the world. They will improve trade between the Middle East, Indian Sub-Continent, and Africa, a region with a population of over 2 billion people, and Europe and the United States, the largest trading partners for countries in this region." Mr. Osman continued.

With these new services, FedEx will operate 13 weekly flights from Dubai increasing its total air capacity by 1.5 million pounds per week.

FedEx will also be expanding its ground services in both the Middle East and India.  By increasing the air links between the Middle East and India, FedEx will also improve connectivity between these enhanced trucking networks in both regions, thereby expanding the express transportation options between key export centers and regional hubs. This will be of particular benefit to FedEx customers with large distribution networks stretching across both regions.
