Dr. Armand Val Feigenbaum, honorary advisor to e-TQM College, will be making his first visit to the UAE

Dubai, UAE - The father of the 'Total Quality Control' - Dr. Armand Val Feigenbaum - partakes in a historical visit to the region to keynote at the first annual Middle East Quality Association (MEQA) Congress. The event is being held at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Dubai, from 25th to 27th March 2007.

Dr. Armand Val Feigenbaum, President and CEO of General Systems Company and an honorary advisor to e-TQM College, will be making his first ever visit to the UAE to address the congress, whose theme is 'Global Strategies for Organisational Excellence'. His session 'The Global Growth of Total Quality' will take place on day one to open the congress. Dr. Feigenbaum will also be a special guest at the ceremonial gala dinner to award, in person, this year's Feigenbaum Leadership Excellence Award winners.

"Dr Feigenbaum's participation reflects his profound support of our efforts and activities to bring quality management knowledge to companies, organisations and government institutions across the Arab world," said Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, e-TQM College Vice President. "Many other global experts in the field will also be attending the congress, ensuring that regional participants will benefit from the very latest thinking in quality management - on an international level."

The Feigenbaum Leadership Excellence Award is a unique and innovative Award dedicated to honour men and women across the Arab World for their exemplary leadership in driving their organizations to fulfil their role in both business and society. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates was announced as the first recipient of the Feigenbaum Leadership Excellence Award (Exceptional Category) at last year's award ceremony in Dubai - closing the category to other entrants.

"We are extremely proud that Dr. Feigenbaum will be here in person to present this prestigious award to the winning leaders" added Dr. Mansoor Al Awar.

The impact of Dr. Feigenbaum's work is reflected in the large number of quality award programs and professorships around the world that carry his name, the many university honorary degrees he has been awarded, and the wide variety of awards that he himself has received. He is a present and past board member for a large number of quality and engineering associations as well.

He recently co-authored "The Power of Management Capital" with his brother, Dr. Donald S. Feigenbaum, who will be joining him in Dubai for the MEQA Congress. The book sets a new direction for management in the 21st century, not only in industry but also in healthcare, education, public administration and technology.
