Global testing group Exova has appointed Michel Wizenberg to the position of general manager for its Exova Warringtonfire fire consultancy and engineering business in the Middle East.

Michel joins Exova from FDS Consult and Fire Design Solutions where he was most recently managing director with responsibility for leading all commercial and operational performance. During his time in the role, he delivered significant growth in revenues and extended the customer base into new sectors.

In his new role, Michel will lead a team of 15 fire engineering specialists supporting customers throughout the Middle East from offices in the UAE and Qatar.

Luis Cunha, sector director for Exova Warringtonfire, said: "Michel brings a proven technical track-record having held a number of fire engineering positions with FDS and previously Fläkt Woods Limited, which saw him provide analysis, modelling and design solutions on several hundred customer projects worldwide.

"Michel's experience and technical expertise will be key to supporting our customers in the region and he will also play an important role as we continue our expansion plans for the fire engineering consulting business."
