Crestron will be demonstrating its 'Every Room Connected' philosophy on stand 5C10 at PALME 2007.
New products on display will include the Media Processing System (MPS), the latest generation of facility-wide network control software (RoomView 7.0) and the latest Isys i/O WiFi touchpanel the TPMC-8X. All are of keen interest to AV integrators working in the Middle East commercial and residential sectors.
'We are looking forward to the opportunity of showcasing our single platform solution and related product portfolio to decision makers at this, the most important AV event in the Middle East.' Explains Vincent Philippo, Regional Director, Crestron Middle East. 'Demonstrating that Crestron can deliver the only complete control and connectivity solution for every room, every application and every budget.'
Designed as a complete out-of-the-box AV presentation solution for boardrooms, auditoria and lecture rooms, the new Media Processing System (MPS) is the culmination of three years of technology innovation. The MPS is a control system, multimedia matrix switcher, microphone mixer, audio processor, and QuickMedia (QM) distribution centre, all rolled into a single, rackmount-ready package.
The series features four models in the range. Installation is simple: just connect source components and display devices; plug-and-play for a fully functioning AV presentation system. Models in the range are the MPS-100, 200, 300 and 400. All MPS models feature QuickMedia routing and processing, seamless system expansion, network connectivity and RoomView remote management capabilities. MPS offers seamless plug-and-play connectivity with Crestron 3-channel amps, touchpanels, keypads, handheld remotes, iLux lighting control and the APAD room controller.
Crestron's RoomView 7.0 is the latest generation of its facility-wide network control software. This new, feature rich, updated version is the first and only real-time, multi-user help desk software to offer complete facility-wide network control of AV resources and environmental systems. The system provides an efficient point-and-click interface and a simple "at-a-glance" view of the entire facility-wide control system network from any PC on the LAN or WAN.
RoomView 7.0 offers the choice of real-time executable client or Web-based user interfaces. The GUI features a new "MyRoomView" environment that provides a personalized home page for every user. The large "main" area can be custom configured to show equipment status overview for multiple rooms, a single room detailed view, or room scheduling plan.
In addition, a choice of plug-in modules can provide views such as daily schedule, calendar, room hot list, action items, instant messaging, server status, and room web cam. Additional enhancements will include multiple server support with rollover capability for disaster recovery, enhanced integrated room scheduling with a tie-in for MS Exchange and integration with Oracle databases.
The latest Isys i/O WiFi touchpanel the TPMC-8X, is a new addition to Crestron's range of wireless media centre touchpanels, the TPMC-8X boasts a stylish and compact design. It allows users to control all systems, including lighting, heating, security, blinds/curtains and much more all at the touch of a button. Users are also able to surf the internet, stream digital media, email and carry out other PC-based tasks all from this one wireless device.
The TPMC-8X features an embedded Windows XP Operating System that provides secure onboard PC functionality including 802.11 a/b/g wireless capabilities. It also features more than 1.5 GB of memory to provide high-speed performance in an ergonomic, lightweight, portable design. TPMC-8X offers an additional range of features including; a brilliant 8.4'' SVGA screen for displaying 3D graphics and streaming video, built-in Bluetooth technology, biometric scanner, stereo speaker system and microphone.
The TPMX-8X Wifi touchpanels operate on an embedded PC platform that enables Web access via Internet Explorer, streaming media using WindowsMedia Player 10, e-mail, and full PC applications such as MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Adobe Acrobat in a secure environment - all while providing intuitive control of AV distribution, lighting, climate control and security. Users can also access data and run applications on other computers from the TPMC-8X via Remote Desktop, while onboard NetMeeting and Skype applications enable conferencing and voice-over-IP directly from the touchpanel.
