• Held at the iconic Emirates Golf Club, volunteers can see some of the world’s best golfers as they become a part of the team hosting one of the Tour’s most prestigious events

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Online registrations are now open for volunteers to join the world-class team at one of the region’s most historic sporting events; the 34th edition of the Dubai Desert Classic which is set to tee off in January 2023.

The region’s longest-standing professional tournament returns to Emirates Golf Club from 26th to 29th of January, where many of the world’s leading golfers will be treading the fairways of the Majlis Course and looking to join an elite list of previous winners.

Organisers are calling for local volunteers to join the team and deliver an outstanding event experience. Each volunteer will play a crucial role in the smooth running of the tournament with a minimum two-day commitment requested. The team of volunteers will be needed in the run up to the event, as well as the competition days – this will encompass a full week from Monday 23 January to Sunday 29 January 2023.

Aspiring young golfers as young as 14 years old can volunteer to be a part of the event, working alongside some of the biggest names in the sport for an invaluable experience and to get an unrivalled insight into what it takes to run an event of this nature.

The Dubai Desert Classic, now a Rolex Series Event, has been played for more than three decades and is regarded as one of the DP World Tour’s most historic events, having paved the way for golf in the Middle East.

The line-up of players on display will be as impressive as always with current world number one Rory McIlroy already confirmed to be taking part, alongside major-winner Shane Lowry, and Tour event winners and perennial fan-favourites Tyrrell Hatton and Tommy Fleetwood.

The Dubai Desert Classic is renowned as a family-friendly event, packed full of great entertainment for all ages to enjoy.

Among the new additions to next year’s entertainment is a dedicated Kids’ Day on the Friday after school and a Picnic Package across all four days of the tournament, with more details to be released soon.
