The Abu Dhabi-based airline's cricket team is one of several competing in the Emirates Palace Cricket Festival, taking place between 22 and 29 February in Abu Dhabi.

The Lashings squad boasts a host of former international cricketers, including no less than six former England stars: Graeme Hick, Adam Hollioake, Philip DeFreitas, Devon Malcolm, Chris Silverwood and Ed Giddings.

Other international stars in the Lashings team include Rashid Latif from Pakistan, Grant Flower from Zimbabwe, Chris Cairns from New Zealand and Marvan Atapattu from Sri Lanka.

Anton Du Preez, the captain of Etihad's cricket team, said:  "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our team to rub shoulders with an array of world-class international players."

The national airline of the United Arab Emirates has helped sponsor the exciting 'Twenty/20' tournament by flying members of the Lashings cricket squad into its Abu Dhabi home base from destinations around the world.
