EPSON has launched EMP-7900NL, a new LCD projector that provides high-quality images, flexibility and ease-of-use for the business environment. It produces 4000 ANSI lumens and has a true XGA native resolution (1024 x 768) with contrast ratio of 700:1 for rich video projection.

The EPSON EMP-7900NL is equipped with Epson's Easy MP function so that it offers network control. The network can check and control several aspects of the projector, for example switching sources or turning all projectors off at the end of each day.

Internet Protocol (IP) addressability makes communication and networkability simple, while servicing and maintenance planning are made more efficient through the projector's ability to email alerts to a network supervisor. These alerts will notify the supervisor of service requirements.

"With the rapid technological transformation and automation of the business environment, networking is becoming an essential requirement in conference rooms," said Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, EPSON Middle East.

"The EPSON EMP-7900NL is ideal for large classrooms, conference or training rooms, as it addresses the needs of professionals who require a robust and compact desktop projector with high brightness and convenient features, primarily networking and security," said El-Dalu.

For improved running costs, an eco mode has been included that ensures delivery of around 3000 hours of lamp life. With an operation noise of only 33dB, the EPSON EMP-7900NL is exceptionally quiet.

For enhanced choice, clients are able to order lenses for the EMP-7900NL separately to suit their specific needs. There are three options available - short, mid and long throw.
It is easy to set up the Epson EMP-7900NL in a variety of environments. The Epson QuickCorner function provides advanced horizontal and vertical keystone correction, creating a square image quickly and easily.

Where a projector screen is not available, image quality is enhanced by the Epson Wall Shot function. When an image is projected onto a wall, the projector will detect the quality of the image that is on display. If the wall is not white, for example, this can affect the quality of the image. The EMP-7900NL will automatically adjust the image quality to provide a clearer image that reflects the image-quality the viewer would expect to receive if it was projected onto a white background.

The Epson EMP-7900NL can also be used as a portable device and therefore includes important security features including a password function to protect the projector from theft and prevent unauthorised operation or access.

A backlit remote control with a joystick is included with the EMP-7900NL for ease of use, while its user-friendly design provides access to all major functions at the touch of a button.

As a leading developer and manufacturer of Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD), Epson ensures that all its projectors feature the company's 3LCD advanced imaging technology, and the EMP-7900NL is no exception. The 3 LCD panels create varying shades of red, green and blue that blend to produce a projected image with brighter, richer, truer colours and sharp black text.

Editor's Notes: International market research experts, Decision Tree Consulting, reported that in the financial year 2003 LCD projectors accounted for more than 69% of global projector sales.
