Global imaging products leader aims to consolidate its position in the fast growing Saudi market

Epson Middle East has announced that it is organising the EPSON Business conference at the Marriott Hotel in Riyadh today (November 11, 2008) as part of a strategy to reinforce its presence in the high potential Saudi market.

During the end user event, which is being  attended by senior IT managers, CIOs and key decision makers from various business segments in KSA including government, healthcare, education and real estate, Epson is showcasing a wide range of latest products including its revolutionary A4 sheetfed scanners - GT-S50 and GT-S80.

The GT-S50 and GT-S80, both with a high-speed USB 2.0 interface and network enabled model, incorporate a range of unique features that enhance efficiency and ease-of-use across a wealth of applications. The GT-S80 series has an exceptional document capture rate of up to 40 pages per minute and 80 images per minute; whilst the GT-S50 series achieves 25 pages per minute and 50 images per minute.

Ease of use is paramount for business users and the GT-S50 and GT-S80 series both incorporate a two-line LCD display so the user can easily access their own customised scan-to job functions, rather than remembering a number code as necessary with traditional sheetfed scanners. The business, ID and embossed card scan functionality further enhances the value to business users, scanning the data from the cards and transferring it directly to a digital database.

Patrick Perrot, Product Manager for Epson Europe, said, "Epson has a heritage for developing pioneering products in the scanner marketplace and the GT-S50 and GT-S80 sheetfed scanners are designed to meet the needs of business users. The scanners are user-friendly, reliable and fast - with an unrivalled 75-A4 page automatic document feeder page capacity enabling fast and seamless scanning of large batch documents."

Commenting on the Saudi conference, Zaid Ghattas, Business Development Manager, Epson Middle East said, "KSA represents a key market for Epson Middle East and we have been strategically increasing our focus in the Kingdom. We foresee tremendous potential in this market given the steady growth in PC and Internet penetration and the country's overall business sector growth. Through this roadshow we aim to show our commitment to our customers in the Kingdom and express our appreciation for their continued patronage to our products."

"Moreover, we have lined up an array of our latest scanners, printers and projectors to be showcased during the event, which will help the participating IT managers and decision makers get a better understanding of our newest offerings targeted at the business segment," he added.

Besides the GT-S50 and GT-S80 scanners, Epson is displaying select printer models at the event, including the B500DN, AcuLaser C3800N, AcuLaser CX11NF, AcuLaser M2000D and AcuLaser M4000D. Epson projectors that are being showcased include EB-1725, EB-1725W and EMP-W400. Also on display is Epson's GT-1500 scanner.

The AcuLaser M2000D series of high-performance monochrome laser printers are designed specifically to meet the unique needs of the contemporary office environment. The new compact, quiet, and affordable printer line supports large batch printing while retaining high production quality. The M2000 series features a print speed of 28 pages per minute at 1,200 dpi and is capable of producing the first printed page within six seconds. The AcuLaser M4000 series on the other hand is capable of delivering up to 43 pages per minute, even at full 1200 dpi resolution, with a first page out time of 8.3 seconds. As Epson's highest specification mono laser printer, the AL-M4000 delivers optimum time efficiency for businesses, combined with a capacity for heavy-duty printing.

The AcuLaser C3800 is the ideal A4 printing device for small to medium businesses and larger corporations requiring a printer that offers speed, reliability and security. The AcuLaser C3800 is incredibly quiet and features a highly intuitive graphics interface, making it very easy to use and maintain. The secure printing feature allows printing directly from a USB key as well as password-protected printing where confidentiality is important.

The B-500DN is a business printer designed to deliver high reliability, high-volume printing in full colour at an exceptionally low cost per page. The printer utilises Epson Micro Piezo technology to make brilliant colour print outs as affordable to produce as typical mono prints from other printers available on the market. The B-300 is capable of producing mono or colour prints at up to 37 pages per minute in draft quality, and up to 33 pages per minute at laser-like quality.

The Epson EMP-400W is an ultra-short throwing distance, compact and light-weight projector, which is ideal for corporate presentations, especially within small meeting areas. The projector is able to deliver a clear and sharp focussed 60 inch picture at just 65cm from the projection surface, eliminating the shadow effects that can be caused by presenters standing between the projection unit and the screen.

The EB-1725 and EB-1725W are Epson's new lightweight portable projectors designed to combine ease-of-use with optimal performance across a variety of applications. The new Epson 'ultra mobile' series further enhances versatility, functionality and usability to support professional, hassle-free presentations. The projectors incorporate Epson's exclusive EasyMP® technology that offers enhanced network functionality and allows multi-screen display functionality, enabling up to four projectors to be connected wirelessly to present from just one computer, thus creating larger, panoramic or split-screen displays.
