July 16th , 2006

Epson has launched its new home cinema projectors the EMP-TW600 and EMP-TW520 models in the Middle East market offering premium quality projectors to home cinema enthusiasts who demand the best. Both the EMP-TW600 and EMP-TW520 are handsomely designed with a fresh, sleek finish ensuring they add style and quality to the home.

Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East said: "The EMP-TW600 and EMP-TW520 are Epson's top-of-the-range projectors and will appeal to those who expect the very best for their home-cinema. These models are HD-ready and can handle images from digital TV. The images are sharp, vibrant and realistic enough to give the feeling of being in the movie with one's favourite actors."

The Epson EMP-TW600 features a W-XGA resolution of 1280 x 750 pixels and HDMI input ensuring that it is able to truthfully display High Definition content.  Its image quality is one of the best in its class, thanks to the pioneering projector technologies developed exclusively by Epson.

Its high contrast ratio of 5000:1 is possible with the inclusion of an Epson Auto Iris Optical System that controls the intensity of light from the lamp.  With a brightness of 1600 ANSI lumens, the EMP-TW600 provides crisp and clear colours for bright scenes and fine grey scaling for darker scenes.

The innovative Epson Cinema Filter ensures that users benefit from a high-quality image whatever the ambience of the room, for example, bright images can be enjoyed in a light room and optimum contrast in a dark room. The EMP-TW600 comes in seven colour modes, allowing users to select the mode that best suits their needs.  For example, Dynamic mode can be chosen for light rooms or Theatre Black for a darker environment.

The Filter faithfully reproduces this wide range of colours.

The EMP-TW600 is not limited to large rooms and a 60-inch screen size can be achieved from a distance of just 1.5 metres. For those with limited space, it is sometimes difficult to find a suitable position from where the projector can directly face the screen, thus restricting the scope for getting a straight, central image.  The EMP-TW600 features horizontal and vertical lens shift whereby the lens can be adjusted 100 up and down as well as 50 per cent to the left and right, and can be placed in a range of positions.

The new Epson EMP-TW520 model is also powered by a fully digital HDMI input and a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. High spec and High Definition ready, the projector gives an impressive performance and at the touch of a button, can transform the living room into a home cinema. With a contrast ratio of 4000:1 and a brightness of 1400 lumens, the EMP-TW520 can be used in home cinema environments where the ambient light cannot be totally controlled. Run in "Dynamic" mode a bright, powerful picture can be obtained.

Its unique Epson cinema filter, preset colour modes and amazing contrast ratio also yield superb quality image, allowing users to switch from sports and TV to video games and blockbuster movies without altering the room lighting. The built-in Epson 3LCD technology on the TW-520 delivers stunning images that are easy on the eye, giving smooth sharp results even with fast action video sports.

"Epson brings to the region the most advanced projectors in its home cinema range and consolidates its position as a provider of innovative, high-performing devices in the home projector market. The EMP-TW520 and EMP-TW600 are easy to use and adjust and are designed and developed for maximum cinematic enjoyment," El-Dalu concluded.
