EPSON has launched in the Middle East markets, the Perfection 2580 Photo, the first scanner to include Auto Film Loader features for digitising 35mm film, allowing filmstrips to be scanned effortlessly with just one click.

The new scanner also features high optical resolution for picking up minute details and creating large prints from film. In addition, it incorporates EPSON's unique photo restoration tools for repairing and rejuvenating old photographs.

"EPSON has been introducing constant upgrades into its scanners, driven by end-user requirements," said Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, EPSON Middle East. "Our recent products have achieved remarkable results in areas of improved photo restoration and faster film scanning. The EPSON Perfection 2580 Photo offers users a higher resolution, delivering value to amateur film photographers through the unique auto film loader that makes film scanning easier and quicker by automating the loading process."

The EPSON Perfection 2580 Photo is ideal for amateur photographers that require an easy method of creating photo quality scans from 35mm film. It allows users to input positive and negative 35mm film which is then automatically processed by the scanner. This creates high detailed scans for printing photographs up to A3 in size.

Photographic film can be scanned up to an optical resolution of 2400 x 4800 dpi. EPSON's restoration and dust removal software then transforms faded and damaged photographs into bright, vibrant images, making them look like new. The automatic film loader allows large volumes of film to be processed quickly, ensuring users can digitise, repair and archive all their old photographs.

The EPSON Perfection 2580 Photo has USB 2.0 hi-speed connectivity as standard, offering incredibly fast scanning whilst maintaining compatibility with standard USB 1.1. It is also equipped with better management tools such as easy push buttons on the front of the product for easy one-touch scanning.

The award-winning software bundled with the Perfection 2580 includes the latest EPSON scan tool, ArcSoft PhotoImpression 5 photo creativity software, ABBYY FineReader 5 Sprint OCR software and simple one-click, scan to email, scan to web, scan and save and copy tools.
