The portable EB-W8D all-in-one video projector is packed with innovative features that will revolutionise multimedia teaching

Epson, the worldwide leader in the video projector market[1], has announced the launch of the EB-W8D, the only all-in-one video projector solution specifically designed for the education sector. The portable and feature rich EB-W8D incorporates a DVD/DivX player and stereo speakers to offer a versatile choice of multimedia device for the classroom.

Harnessing the latest in Epson innovation, the EB-W8D boasts an impressive Colour Light Output[2] (CLO) of 2500 lumens and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. As a result, students will be able to enjoy outstanding imagery, even in bright environments. WXGA resolution, combined with Epson's advanced 3LCD imaging technology, also ensures that images are bright, sharp and clear.

The new Auto Colour Optimiser feature means there is no need to fine tune the video projector manually. Both the operation and colour modes adapt automatically to the best preset setting according to the light environment of the room, adding to its convenience in the classroom and ensuring the best possible viewing experience is always achieved.

Designed specifically for the advanced nature of today's multimedia savvy education sector, the EB-W8D brings many advantages to its users. Teaching staff will benefit from features such as the USB flash drive multimedia viewer, which allows instant video projection of files direct from a USB key. Not only does this save time, but it also adds to the video projector's portability as no PC or Mac is needed. Vertical Keystone correction ensures that a perfectly squared screen is produced automatically which, together with and Quick Start and Instant Off functions, mean that lessons can begin punctually and end promptly.

Epson is committed to preserving the environment and as such the EB-W8D includes a low wattage E-TORL lamp, which conserves both money and energy without compromising on brightness. The E-TORL lamp also guarantees a super long life, meaning the total cost of ownership is reduced and years can go by without the need for a replacement.

Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East, said: "With governments across the region steadily increasing their focus on the education sector, we expect academic institutions to boost their investments in IT peripherals and equipments that will enhance the learning environment. The EB-W8D offers teaching staff and students an ideal video projection experience. With an integrated DVD/DivX player and two 10W stereo speakers, the EB-W8D offers true multimedia capabilities. Its small size, light weight and convenient carrying handle also mean that the video projector can be transported easily from classroom to classroom. Easy set up and a quick start up time also means that lessons can begin instantly, without students' attention being lost."
