Alkhobar : In a grand Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony under the patronage of Mr.Abdulaziz Ahmad Al Naimi, EPCA honored its winning teams, top performers and young and promising Cricketers. To attend this grand function all the Cricket Association members of the kingdom came from different corners of the country and the Executive committee members of WPCA, YACA, MCL and SPCL were also present at this great function.
Mr. Hasan Kabir the president and CEO of Saudi Cricket Centre were among the guest of honor along with SCC Development Manager, Mr.Nadeem Nadvi, Executive Council member Mr. Iftikhar Husain, Mr. Sadiqul Islam, Mr. Qasim Nadwi.
Mr. Badar AlGosaibi the director of Khalifa Algosaibi group was the chief guest of the evening. Beside him Mr. Salem Alhajri of AlTurki group and Mr. E.K. Mohammad Shafi the Principal of the Indian Embassy School Dammam were also present on the stage.
The function began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, then The Eastern Province Cricket Association President Mr. Abdulaziz Al Naimi in his inaugural speech thanked the entire guest, sponsors and teams and emphasize that if we remain united lot of success will greet us. He also congratulates all the winning teams and said that in days to come EPCA will grow stronger and stronger under the banner of SCC, ACC and ICC.
In his speech Mr. Badar Algosaibi re-affirmed his continuous support to EPCA and congratulates all the winning clubs. Mr. Salem AlHajri of AlTurki group also declared their continuous support to EPCA.
Mr. Nadeem Nadwi the development officer of SCC thanked and congratulate EPCA for organize a great function and pledges SCC full support to EPCA. He said that all in this region must unite with EPCA to help promote |Cricket in this part of the Kingdom.
Mr. E. K Mohammad Shafi the Indian Embassy School Principal thanked EPCA and Stressed his continuous support to EPCA.
Mr. Badar algosaibi handed over the 2006-07 ATG League champion trophy to the captain of Shajal CC Mr Arif Bajabar and the Runners up trophy was presented to Mr. syed yasin the captain of Hydrabadi Hawks. ATG League 2007-08 champion trophy was given to Asia XI captain Mr. Khaled and the Runners up trophy was handed over to SUZUKI Saudia captain Zain Merchant.
Mr. Nasir AlHajri distributed 2006-07 Knock out champion trophy to the captain of ADPCO Mr. Sohrab and the Runners up trophy were given to Mr. Zubair of Hydrabadi Hawks. Similarly Mr. Nasir AlHajri distributed Saudi Ready Mix Knock out tournament 2007-08 trophies to the winning captain of SUZUKI Saudia Mr. Zainuddin Merchant and the Runners up trophy to Mr. Sohrab of ADPCO.
There were some special performance trophies also given on some great performance in batting and bowling. Hidayat of ADPCO got the best batting aggregate and average trophy for the ATG League. Sadiq Rafiq got the best bowling aggregate trophy for the ATG League and Sajid Ansari got the best bowling average prize.
For Alturki knock out tournament best batting award was given to Ansar and best batting average prize went to Sohrab and for the bowling Sadiq Rafiq got both the Best aggregate and average trophy.
For the season 2007-08 ATG League best batting aggregate and average prize went to Kashif of Suzuki Saudia. Nadim of Asia XI got the best bowling aggregate trophy and Sunil of KAG got the best average bowling trophy. Saudi Ready Mix Knock out tournament best batting aggregate award went to Sohrab of ADPCO and best batting average prize won by Syed Amin of ADPCO. In the bowling Amin Saifullah got the best aggregate trophy and best bowling average award went to Shafiq of Asia XI.
Children who participated in the SCC tournament were also given certificate and gifts by the EPCA but the SCC President Mr. Hasan Kabir handed it over to them. The following children were awarded for participating in the SCC tournament. Mohammad Osama Arif, Aqib Abdul Rauf, Mohsin Shabbir, Addus Samad, Hamad Naweed Akram the youngest Saudi cricketer whose name is now in the Guinness book of record, Ahmed Sajjad Nawab, Aoum Mohammed Abedi.
Trophies were also given by the EPCA President to the Umpires, Executive committee members and for special services to EPCA Babul were given a token of appreciation. All our generous sponsors were also given special appreciation trophy and a very special plaque was given to Mr. Badar Algosaibi.
In the end Mr. Abdulaziz Al Naimi thanked every one especially to the sponsors and the members of the SCC for making this function and grand success.
