Dubai, UAE; May 14, 2012: Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has been honoured with the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) with an Excellence in Practice citation for one of its sales and leadership development programmes.
The awards given by ASTD, a global professional association dedicated to training and development, recognise individuals and organisations that develop best practices towards advancing workplace learning and development.
ENOC was honoured for its 'Sales Transformation & Readiness (STaR),' module which is integrated within ENOC's Sales Academy, the company's flagship learning and development programme targeting ENOC's sales professionals.
"This honour demonstrates the world-class work environment that we nurture in ENOC. We are committed to the personal and professional empowerment of our staff, making us one of the employers of choice in the region," said Saeed Abdullah Khoory, ENOC's Chief Executive Officer.
The ENOC Sales Academy was designed with the support of Boston University professor Reza Sistakhti and Trainique International's Ian Platt, along with senior managers and learning and development experts at ENOC. The Academy uses an integrated approach to workplace learning through a customised model that leverages the best practices identified in the ASTD World Class Sales Competency Model©.
The approach includes the use of competency gap assessment and analysis for sales professionals and their managers for creating individual competency development plans tailored for strengthening the key abilities of individuals. It also includes Learning & Development Roadmaps (LDR), a set of diverse learning solutions aligned to ENOC's sales competency model, for building needed skills identified in development planning and in response to the ever-changing market.
"Sales is a very competitive area and acquiring the right skills can go a long way in increasing an organisation's bottom line. The sales team is at the heart of our business operations and this ASTD citation demonstrates the world-class standards we use to train our sales professionals," said Zaid Alqufaidi, ENOC's Managing Director of Marketing.
ENOC's learning and development programmes use a mix of classroom and online learning, one-to-one coaching and evaluation methods to assess behaviour changes. ENOC continuously undertakes employee development programmes across the organisation with the aim of promoting the welfare and professional growth of its staff.
